Scientific Anglers Headway Belly
Two years ago, Flyfish Europe came up with the idea of developing a new shooting head system for two-handed fishing. To gain further insight into the Scandinavian market and the needs of Scandinavian salmon fishermen, a number of Scandinavian fly fishing shops and salmon experts were first interviewed. In this way, the shooting heads available on the market could be specifically analyzed and improved. During the development and testing phase, some of the most experienced salmon fly fishermen, fly casters and tackle shop representatives in Norway worked together. The result is the new Headway bellies from Scientific Anglers, which harmonize perfectly with modern, highly modular double-handed rods. Due to the taper, which has a lot of weight in the rear part of the shooting head, the Headway shooting heads load the rod very easily. Due to the pronounced, finely tapering front taper, these bowls also present small flies with the necessary finesse.
The material of these shooting heads is one of the best we have seen so far and is extremely soft and supple, so that tight loops can be cast even with thick two-handed shooting heads.
The Headway two-handed bellies must be fished with appropriate tips. Tips with a length of 9'-18' and a weight between 5g and 11g are recommended.
