The second generation of the Orvis Recon is made with the same technology as the Orvis Helios 3. It's a rod series that can easily compete with rods in excess of €1000 and at a fraction of the price.

We have put together a perfectly balanced coastal set based on the Orvis Recon 9ft #6. For us, fast rods of line class 6 are perfect as light all-round rods for coastal fishing for sea trout.
Matching the #6 Orvis Recon, we chose the Guideline Halo 67 as a fly reel and the Guideline Coastal Evolve as a matching line for the coast. Our recommendation is the Guideline Coastal Evolve in Slow Intermediate because we think it is the most versatile. However, if you know that the floating or fast intermediate line is more suitable for your fishing, you can of course also select these. The set comes fully wound including backing, two Orvis Mirage Fluorocarbon leaders and a spool of matching Orvis Mirage Fluorocarbon tippet material.
