The Sage Igniter switch rods have the same advantages as the Igniter spey rods. This means a fast, powerful taper for the best lifting properties and maximum line speed. In the right hands, these rods outperform almost all comparable models and also handle heavy sinking lines with ease. The Igniter switch rods in classes #6 and #7 are ideal for light salmon fishing or river fishing for sea trout and steelhead. Class #8 and #9 rods are ideal when shorter rods are an advantage, but you still need the necessary power reserves, for example when fishing for large salmon in small to medium-sized rivers or when fishing for huchen
